Overview
Sheet metal fabrication forms flat metal sheets into enclosures, brackets, chassis and panels by cutting, bending and joining. It is cost-effective from prototypes to production because most parts need little or no dedicated tooling.
We review flat patterns and bend designs, coordinate fabrication and finishing, and can combine sheet metal with machined, molded or electronic parts into complete assemblies.
What We Can Make
- Electronics enclosures and server/rack chassis
- Brackets and mounting plates
- Control cabinets and panels
- Robot and machine frames, covers and guards
- Welded assemblies
- Stamped parts for higher volumes
Materials
| Material | Notes |
|---|---|
| Cold-rolled steel (SPCC) | Economical, usually powder coated or plated |
| Galvanized steel (SGCC) | Corrosion resistance for enclosures |
| Stainless steel 304 / 316 | Food, medical, outdoor environments |
| Aluminum 5052 / 6061 | Lightweight, good formability (5052) |
| Copper / brass | Bus bars, conductive parts |
Manufacturing Process
- Design review — bend radii, K-factor, hole-to-edge distances, hardware.
- Cutting — laser cutting or punching of flat patterns.
- Forming — CNC press brake bending.
- Joining — welding, riveting, PEM / self-clinching hardware.
- Finishing — powder coating, plating, brushing, anodizing.
- Assembly, inspection and packing.
Applications
- Industrial control cabinets
- AI edge-computing and server enclosures
- Robot covers and frames
- IoT gateway housings
- Vehicle accessories and brackets
Quality Control
Quality checks are agreed before production starts and tied to your drawing, sample or specification — not to a generic checklist.
- Flat pattern and bend sequence review
- First-article check of bends, hole positions and hardware
- Weld visual inspection
- Coating color, thickness and adhesion checks where specified
- Fit check with mating parts where samples are available
See how we approach inspection across all projects on our quality control overview.
Customization
- Powder coat colors (RAL) and textures
- Silk-screened or laser-etched labels
- Integrated hardware (PEM nuts, studs, standoffs)
- Full assembly with cable harnesses and electronics
